After 10 weeks of classes, 83 students from the Talented in Art program at Bemis celebrated their work with a one-night exhibition on Fri., Feb. 4. Over 450 students, parents, teachers and other guests attended the reception at Bemis School of Art.
The Talented in Art program is a collaboration of Bemis School of Art and Colorado Springs School District 11. The students are identified and nominated by their teachers at school. The course options included a variety of art disciplines such as Drawing, Painting, Intermediate Drawing, Ceramics, and “Art Around the World.”
The goal of Talented in Art is to accelerate advanced art students in grades 3-5.
Accelerated learning develops the students’ academic potential and enables them to excel with an in-depth comprehensive understanding of visual arts. All courses apply Colorado State Content Standards, and include lectures, interactive projects, and visits to the FAC galleries.
