Bemis School of Art set a new record as they welcomed just short of 500 people to their Free Family Adventure Day last Saturday, February 19. Kids and parents enjoyed hours of arts-filled activities including a free gallery tour at 12:30.
Bemis Instructors designed project based on African-American artists in honor of February’s designation as Black History Month. Projects ranged from Kara Walker-inspired Black and WHite Silhouette Portraitures top Faith Ringgold-style Autobiographical Paper Quilts.
The event became a monthly feature at the FAC due in part to funding received through IMLS.
Next month’s event will feature on eco-friendly art projects!
