SUMMARY:Libation Lecture: The Divine Within

La Virgen de Guadalupe\, the patron saint of Mexico and goddess of the Americas\, has generated reflection on the question of our divine and corporeal being for over 500 years. Why is that she is depicted everywhere from churches\, museums\, and murals\, to t-shirts\, coffee mugs\, and tattoos? \nDuring the lecture\, we’ll also be playing Lotería\, a bingo-like game that uses culturally significant images and has been played throughout Mexico for hundreds of years. You might even win a prize! \nThemed drink: Paloma\nLecturer: Nancy Rios\, PhD; Program Director\, CC Mobile Arts \nTickets: $10 for FAC Members\, $15 for non-members\, includes your first drink (FAC members must login to receive the discount) \nRegister for the Libation Lecture \nImage: The Arroyo Hondo Painter\, Nuestra Señora de los Dolores (Our Lady of Sorrows)\, ca.\, 1825-1840\, Museum Purchase Fund\, TM 1407
