Explore different themes each month based on students’ interests. Together\, the class will investigate a wide variety of art\, engage in lively discussion\, and navigate new ideas. In addition to dynamic discussions\, this course features live demonstrations and painting critiques. This will be a safe and fun group in which to grow as an artist! Learn slab construction and glazing techniques to handbuild two tantalizing mugs from textured clay slabs. Move from flat to free-standing using simple measurements and flat patterns. SUMMARY:Where Did We Sit on the Bus?
DESCRIPTION:Where Did We Sit on the Bus? is an electric one-person show pulsing with Latin rhythms\, rap\, hip-hop\, spoken word\, and live looping. During a third grade lesson on the Civil Rights movement and Rosa Parks\, a Latinx student raises their hand to ask\, “Where did we sit on the bus?” and their teacher can’t answer the question. This thrilling production examines what it means to be Latinx through the eyes of a child\, turned teenager\, turned adult.
