DESCRIPTION:Did you know the 300-foot sandstone rocks in the Garden of the Gods park were once sand dunes? Explore working with ink and watercolor in this beautiful environment. During this on-location class\, we’ll take photos\, talk about composition\, and create small studies in our sketchbooks. Learn to work with ink to sketch the rocks and landscape and color your sketches with quick layers of watercolor. Adult class in celebration of the Broadmoor Art Academy’s 100th Anniversary.

SUMMARY:Figure Drawing & Painting at the FAC
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the Broadmoor Art Academy’s 100th anniversary join local artist Erin Gillespie in the courtyard or sculpture garden of the Fine Arts Center for drawing and painting the figure directly from a live model through long and short poses\, as well as demonstrations and examples of contemporary and classical figure drawing. Demonstrations will be done in graphite\, charcoal\, and paint from gestures to finished works. Minimal art supplies and easels will be provided for participants. Bring your own box of tools if you wish. Free and all ages welcome! \nPlease check in at the Fine Arts Center’s front desk for event location.

Learn how to create a strong composition\, sketch and block in values\, and eventually add color and details to finish their landscape painting. Some experience in preferred painting medium is required. \nIn celebration of the Broadmoor Art Academy’s 100th anniversary this opportunity reminiscent of the experiences visitors would’ve had at the Broadmoor Art Academy.
